If you’ve brought a Siamese cat home, please do not that you’ve actually got a royal feline home. Also, some of you may not know but Siam is basically modern-day Thailand. And apart from what you’re thinking of, it is also quite popular for its sleek, blue-eyed cats that were once companions to the kings and queens. You may notice soon that your Siamese cat looks at you like they’re waiting for you to bow.

Now it’s pretty understandable that you wouldn’t want a generic name for them. They need something regal, something fitting their royal heritage. We’ve got some great ones for you.

But before that, you’d want to know that this cat finds mentions in ancient manuscripts that date back to 351 to 1767 AD. There are also a lot of breeds that are derived from the Siamese. They include Balinese, Birman, Burmese, Havana Brown, Himalayan, Ragdoll, etc. You’d be shocked to know that these beautiful creatures were actually rejected by Western society and considered ugly. A journalist even called them “an unnatural, nightmare kind of cat.” (1)

Good that the world realized soon. With that, let’s get on to finding a great name for your beautiful cat.
